In August 26th, during the intellectual property week in Singapore, the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore held the "intellectual property Leadership Forum" through video conferencing. It invited the heads of intellectual property institutions in China, Japan, Britain and the United States and the chairman of the International Trademark Association to discuss how to promote global innovation, recovery and growth during COVID-19. Shen Changyu, director of the State Intellectual Property Office of China, was invited to attend the event and delivered a keynote speech.Shen Changyu introduced the measures taken by the State Intellectual Property Office of the people's Republic of China (SIPO) in protecting the rights and interests of applicants, supporting scientific research on epidemic prevention and control, supporting market entities to return to work and production, and strengthening international cooperation during the epidemic period. After China novel coronavirus pneumonia, the Chinese government insisted on the principle of "people first and life foremost" and adopted the most comprehensive, strictest and thorough preventive and control measures. It resolutely curbed the spread of the epidemic and actively carried out international cooperation in prevention and control. It also made overall plans to promote the prevention and control of epidemic diseases and the development of economic society, and achieved significant strategic results. In the first half of this year, invention patent applications and trademark applications showed a positive growth, which showed that innovation and market players still have confidence in the epidemic environment.
