From September 9 to 11, in order to implement the important instructions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on strengthening the protection of the Olympic symbols and the decision-making and deployment of the decisive battle against poverty, the State Intellectual Property Office held a training course on improving the protection ability of the Olympic symbols in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. The person in charge of the intellectual property protection department of the State Intellectual Property Office and relevant leaders of Hebei Intellectual Property Office and Intellectual Property Publishing House attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

On the opening ceremony, the head of the intellectual property protection division stressed the need to conscientiously implement the spirit of general secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and push forward the three dimensional protection of intellectual property rights in Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and winter Paralympic Games. First, we should improve our position and fully understand the significance of intellectual property protection for the success of the Winter Olympic Games; second, we should take positive actions to ensure the effectiveness of intellectual property protection for the Winter Olympic Games; third, we should coordinate and carry out intellectual property protection for the Winter Olympic Games; Fourth, we should pool our strength to jointly promote intellectual property protection for the Winter Olympic Games. This training course is carefully designed for the problems encountered in the protection of the Olympic symbols, focusing on the interpretation of the application of the regulations on the protection of the Olympic symbols, the protection of the trademark rights of the Olympic Games, the judicial protection of the Olympic symbols, and the practice of the registration and protection of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games drawings as common trademarks. The training course also organized interactive discussions, analyzed and exchanged cases of Olympic logo protection, and went to the Winter Olympic stadium to observe and learn on the spot.

80 trainees engaged in intellectual property protection from Beijing, the host of the Winter Olympic Games in Hebei Province, North China and the regions where the national e-commerce platforms are concentrated participated in the training. The trainees generally reflected that the training is very necessary and timely. Through systematic study, they have enhanced their understanding of the situation of the protection of Olympic symbols in the new era, further clarified the current tasks of the protection of Olympic symbols, and will be conscientious practitioners and model implementers of the protection of Olympic symbols with a high sense of responsibility and mission in the future work. In the next step, the State Intellectual Property Office will continue to promote strict protection, big protection, fast protection and common protection of the Olympic symbols, and use high-level and high-standard intellectual property protection to escort the success of the Winter Olympic Games.
