From August 5 to 7, the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Office held the training courses for the first practicing patent agents in Jiangsu Province in 2020 in Nanjing and Suzhou respectively. They systematically studied the regulations on patent agency and measures for the administration of patent agency, and deeply interpreted the requirements for the practice of patent agents. Shi Wei, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Office, attended and mobilized the class.

Deputy director Shi Wei requested that we fully recognize the professional status, role and responsibilities of patent agents, further enhance our understanding, gather consensus, jointly focus on the construction of a powerful intellectual property country and the new Jiangsu Construction of "strong, rich, beautiful and high", establish the industry cultural concept of taking honest service as the foundation, pursuing quality as the soul and taking industry self-discipline as the root, and work together to build a patent agency brand in Jiangsu To further create a good business environment for the industry.

In the training course, experts explained the current legal norms of patent agency, patent examination business and quality control standards, the industry organization of patent agents and the requirements of their practice norms, the original intention and mission of patent agents, career prospect planning and risks, etc. Nearly 180 first-time practicing patent agents from patent agencies across the province participated in the training.

The training course also held the oath ceremony of the first practicing patent agent. Under the oath of Wang Xudong, President of Jiangsu Patent Agents Association, the first practicing patent agents who participated in the training solemnly swore to the national flag with their right hands raised.

Through the training, we have further enhanced the first-time patent agents' awareness of norms, responsibility and risk, improved their practice ability and level, and laid a good foundation for personal career planning and development.
