Patent review Expressway (PPH)

China's China Intellectual Property Office one belt, one road, has signed a PPH cooperation agreement with 30 patent censorship institutions at the end of 2020, covering the major overseas markets such as the US, Europe, Japan and Korea, and 16 of the "five BRICs" Russia and Brazil, and "one belt and one road" partners.

PPH project is the most widely covered and active international cooperation project in the world. It can make Chinese enterprises put forward faster approval speed, lower cost and higher authorization ratio in foreign patent examination institutions.
"Patent security highway" refers to the patent application for invention with the positive review opinions of the former applicant country. It can be speeded up in other countries that sign the cooperation agreement. Since the first bilateral PPH pilot project with Japan licensing office was launched by the State Intellectual Property Office of China in 2011, the number of PPH partners and applications has increased rapidly. By the end of June 2020, 9066 PPH requests have been submitted by Chinese applicants, with an annual growth rate of 22.6%. PPH has become one of the important ways for Chinese applicants to seek patent protection quickly in foreign markets.
PCT collaborative retrieval and review (PCT CSE)

The pilot project was jointly launched by the State Intellectual Property Office of China, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, the Japanese licensing office and the Korean licensing office on July 1, 2018. By the end of June 2020, China's State Intellectual Property Office has completed 93 review opinions and 375 review opinions of the Bureau of audit.

At present, the project has entered the evaluation stage smoothly.
Pilot project of China EU PCT international retrieval unit

The pilot project was jointly launched by the State Intellectual Property Office of China and the European Patent Office on December 1, 2020 for a period of two years. In the first natural year, 2500 applications were accepted to participate in the pilot project, and 3000 applications were accepted in the second natural year.

Europe is one of the main target markets of "going global" for the innovation subject in China. The pilot project can exempt the European patent office from the cost of supplementary search report, save the review process and time for Chinese applicants who intend to conduct patent layout in Europe.
The pilot project of China EU PCT international retrieval unit is a new type of cooperation business carried out by the two bureaus under the PCT international patent system. PCT application submitted to the State Intellectual Property Office of China as the acceptance Office (English only) can be selected as the international retrieval unit during the pilot period.
