From December 4 to 5, the fourth national patent retrieval skills competition was successfully held in Nanjing. The competition is hosted by Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Protection Center (Jiangsu Provincial Patent Information Service Center) and hosted by "national intellectual property information service center of universities" of Nanjing University of technology. After fierce competition, participants from 23 provinces (autonomous regions and cities) in China finally selected one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes and seven encouragement prizes.
This competition takes the patentability retrieval of high-end equipment field as the theme and is divided into three stages: preliminary competition, semi-final competition and final competition. Since the opening of the competition in September this year, it has attracted wide attention from all walks of life, attracting 603 people from all over the country to participate in the competition, and 86 people have been qualified for the second round. On December 4, the second round of the competition was held in Nanjing University of technology. It was divided into two stages: the ability of patent retrieval and the ability of patent patentability evaluation. After expert evaluation, nine people were successfully promoted to the final. On the afternoon of December 5, the final of the competition officially started. After expert evaluation and on-site audience voting, Xue Rongyuan won the first prize, Tang Chao won the second prize, Wang Ying won the third prize, and Kong Fanling won the encouragement prize. The competition adopts the whole process of online live broadcasting, with more than 30000 people watching live broadcasting online.
It is reported that the competition was launched by Jiangsu Intellectual Property Protection Center (Jiangsu Patent Information Service Center) in 2017. It is committed to creating a platform for patent retrieval practitioners to show skills and share experience, promote the integration of patent retrieval analysis and industrial development, and further expand the coverage and influence of the competition.
